Maceo Parker, best known for his work with James Brown in the 1960s, also played with Parliament-Funkadelic in the 1970s & Prince in the 2000s.

Stephen Stills dedicated his eponymous 1970 solo album to Jimi Hendrix, a close friend who’d played lead guitar on the album’s song “Old Times, Good times” but died two months’ before the album’s release.
