In 1965, The Grateful Dead and The Velvet Underground, unbeknownst to each other, were both performing as ‘The Warlocks’ on opposite ends of the country — before both having to change their names when discovering a different band called The Warlocks already released an album.

Waylon Jennings released this now-classic song in August of 1975. It was part homage to Hank Williams and part critique of how the Nashville music industry treaded on artists and their creativity. It was one of many things that solidified Jennings as the master of Outlaw Country. This shirt reads "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way" with a Waylon Jennings logo.
