The Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad, known as the MKT or “Katy,” was a major Midwestern rail line that helped move freight, passengers, and culture across the region for nearly a century. Eventually, the railroad was turned into hundreds of miles of walking trails, started by a program in Columbia, Missouri.
