It was an unlikely series of events that entwined Sting, Andy Summers and Steward Copeland together in London in 1977 to casually form The Police. Influenced by London’s blooming underground punk and reggae scenes, the trio had to borrow £1,500 to record their first album Outlandos d’Amour. The Police have won five grammy awards, a People’s Choice Award in 2008, and were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
