“La Bamba” legend Ritchie Valens was terrified of flying after a mid-air collision over his grade school killed his best friend, and he vowed never to fly. But in 1959, Valens reluctantly boarded a flight with Buddy Holly that crashed and killed them both.

Derek Trucks Band covered Bob Dylan and The Band’s 1967 song “Down In The Flood” on their final album, “Already Free”.
