In 1994, the U.S. Post office commemorated, among others, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Billie Holiday, Ma Rainey, by putting their faces on stamps.

On February 19, 1972, the brilliant young trumpeter Lee Morgan was fatally shot inside Slugs’ in NYC, it was a profound and infamous moment in jazz history.
