Punk rock band The Germs’ Darby Crash wanted to die a legend, so he intentionally overdosed on heroin — an event largely overshadowed by the assassination of John Lennon hours later.

The 1970 song “Waiting on the Sun” by the Doors isn’t on the 1968 album of the same name “Waiting on the Sun” — it appears two albums later on 1970’s “Morrison Hotel”.
