The cover of Tom Wait’s album “The Heart of Saturday Night” intentionally resembled the famous Frank Sinatra cover, “In the Wee Small Hours”.

While still a somewhat unknown musician in Lubbock, Texas, Buddy Holly attracted two young men to his orbit: future country music star Waylon Jennings and future Rolling Stones’ saxophonist Bobby Keys.

The Rolling Stones’ sax player Bobby Keys, Outlaw Country legend Waylon Jennings, and Rock & Roll originator Buddy Holly all lived in the same neighborhood in Lubbock, Texas & were friends before each was famous. Jennings & Keys both played with Holly’s backing band The Crickets (though Keys did after Holly’s death).
