The enigmatic title track to David Bowie's 1970 studio album "The Man Who Sold the World" went largely unacknowledged at first. It was not released as a single, and the album initially did not achieve much success.

Enchanted people began to make captivating covers, and the song slowly became acclaimed as one of Bowie's single greatest works -- culminating with Nirvana's surprise cover of the song on their 1993 MTV Unplugged performance.
