“By the year 2006 the music known today as the blues will exist only in the classical records department in your local public library. So tonight, ladies and gentlemen while we still can let us welcome from Rock Island, Illinois, the blues music from Elliot Jake and Elwood Blues, The Blues Brothers” – Opening of The Blues Brothers’ Briefcase Full of Blues

Bluescentric exclusive! This is an official Big Brother and the Holding Company hoodie, printed on a quality cotton jersey-lined Hanes pullover, 85% cotton / 15% poly high-density with dye-matched drawstring. Sizes are available in Small-3XL and run true.

Three guitarists, Peter Albin, James Gurley and Chuck Jones, formed Big Brother and the Holding Company in 1965.

The psychedelic music scene was coming to a boil in San Fransisco and with the addition of Jazz drummer David Getz and Janis Joplin with bluesy vocals, BBHC's experimental acid rock ideas exploded onto the American music scene with a firey performance at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, and their wildly popular 1968 album Cheap Thrills.
