Despite being a massive hit, the 1959 Barrett Strong/Berry Gordy song “MONEY (THAT’S WHAT I WANT)” featured “two white kids walking home from high school” who heard the music from Detroit’s Hitsville & asked to play along. They were never identified.

Cobra Records was founded in 1956 in Chicago, Illinois, capturing a slice of the golden era of blues with Otis Rush, Sunnyland Slim, Magic Sam and even a young Buddy Guy. The label folded after the founder was discovered dead at the bottom of Lake Michigan under mysterious circumstances.
