Barry Manilow wrote the jingles for State Farm & Band-Aid, but ironically did NOT write his hit 1975 song, “I Write the Songs” which was written by The Beach Boys’ Bruce Johnston.

Cobra Records was founded in 1956 in Chicago, Illinois, capturing a slice of the golden era of blues with Otis Rush, Sunnyland Slim, Magic Sam and even a young Buddy Guy. The label folded after the founder was discovered dead at the bottom of Lake Michigan under mysterious circumstances.
