Freddie King’s eighth & ninth albums, “Freddie King is a Blues Master” & “My Feelings for the Blues” were produced by King Curtis with Curtis’ soul band The Kingpins — cementing an R&B-styled horn-heavy groove for which Freddie would become famous.

Cobra Records was founded in 1956 in Chicago, Illinois, capturing a slice of the golden era of blues with Otis Rush, Sunnyland Slim, Magic Sam and even a young Buddy Guy. The label folded after the founder was discovered dead at the bottom of Lake Michigan under mysterious circumstances.
