While a struggling songwriter in 1969, former Vietnam War helicopter pilot Kris Kristofferson landed a National Guard chopper on Johnny Cash’s lawn to personally deliver a demo of his music. The stunt worked, and Cash’s cover of “Sunday Morning Coming Down” became a #1 hit in 1970.

This official Mississippi Blues Trail shirt features a real photo of the Highway 61 Blues Trail Marker, framed in the state of Mississippi, with the Mississippi Blues Logo at the top. Often called the “Blues Highway,” Highway 61 runs through the Mississippi Delta and is closely associated with the migration of blues musicians and the spread of the music to the north. The marker was established in 2008 at the Gateway to the Blues near Tunica, Mississippi.
