After the tragic death of saxophonist Charlie “Bird” Parker, his friend poet Ted Joans began writing “Bird Lives” all over New York City. The campaign took a life of its own, and BIRD LIVES can still occasionally be found scrawled on sidewalks, walls and bathroom stalls.

This comfortable 4.5oz preshrunk 100% combed & ringspun cotton Anvil ladies Howlin Wolf t-shirt is available in sizes up to 2XL. Sizes run very true. These are not fitted, but lightly semi-contoured for a comfortable fit. Heather Grey is 90/10, any other heather colors are 60/40.

Because Bluescentric cares about the music, every tee sold directly benefits Howlin' Wolf's estate.

This photo was taken at Joe's Place in Massachusetts in 1974, when The Howlin' Wolf was already a living legend, having been idolized by the biggest rock n roll bands in the world.

His band that night was Eddie Shaw on sax, Hubert Sumlin on guitar, and a couple of colorful musicians named Detroit Junior and Chicken House Shorty on keyboard and bass. Little more than a year later, Wolf's failing health declined and he passed away following surgery.
