Nestled deep in the Louisiana swamps outside of Lafayette, Louisiana was Jay's Lounge & Cock Pit -- a charming little legendary shack that brought in some of the best cajun, blues, country, bluegrass and rock n roll ever to grace the state. On any given night you could find rooster fights in the back, and up front an assortment of hippies and cajun folk dancing to Clifton Chenier, Marcia Ball, Asleep at the Wheel or even Stevie Ray Vaughan. At the end of the night, they'd make gumbo out of the fight loser.
