Blues Guitarist B.B. King’s hometown of Indianola, Mississippi founded the BB King Homecoming Festival in 1980, bringing the artist back home every year, and continuing the tradition after his 2015 death.

This extra comfortable Kansas City sweatshirt is 8.5oz 80/20 cotton/polyester blend, with 100% cotton face (20 singles face yarn). It features a 1x1 ribbing at collar, cuffs and waistband, a tear-away label, and split stitch double needle sewing on all seams. The fit is very standard.

This ornate, noir-style "Kansas City" Missouri logo is derived from the key of a beautiful 1915 map of the city.

That time was the beginning of the "Boss" Tom Pendergast era, when Kansas City flourished as an "everything goes" town. With the looming threat of prohibition, taps flowed and patrons could pick any poison they desired to the jumping sounds of big-band Jazz that played all night, all across the city.
