Wish You Were Here was the ninth studio album by Pink Floyd. Released on September 12th, 1975, the album shot to #1 almost immediately. It was Columbia Records single largest preorder ever. The album became the band's fastest selling ever, currently at 6x platinum.  

The record's album art was concealed under black cellophane with a sticker of two mechanical hands shaking -- symbolizing a sort of emptiness.
