The famous image of Hendrix setting his guitar on fire & The Who’s Pete Townshend making headlines smashing his guitar happened on the night, same stage… Sunday, June 18th, 1967 at Monterey Pop Festival.

Media Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+)

Sleeve Condition: Very Good (VG)

Notes:

Differentiating factors on this version:
• Yellow labels
• "PR" suffix on label matrix numbers (indicating Presswell pressing)
• No mention of Warner along bottom edge of labels (as on later pressings with the WEA logo).

The initials ATGP for ATlantic Studios + George Piros in the B-side runout have a stylized "G" that can be indecipherable or read as "M/" or some other: please see Images for [a379890] for similar examples.

Promotional copies were issued with two stickers on the front sleeve: a black and white sticker "Stranded / The Third Roxy Music Album" with tracklist, and a black, red and yellow sticker "Promotional DJ Copy / Not For Sale" with "Suggested Cuts For Airplay" and timings. All promos have commercial labels. (See Images.)
