In 1965 The Kinks’ drummer Mick Avory once knocked out vocalist/guitarist Ray Davies with his hi-hat stand live on stage, following a dispute after performing “You Really Got Me”.

Slugs in the Far East was a jazz establishment, located in Manhattan’s East Village. The clubat became legendary in the 1960s and early 70s for its raw atmosphere and perfect breeding ground for experimental jazz music from legends like Sun Ra, Ornette Coleman and Lee Morgan -- who was killed at the venue in 1972.
