“[John Coltrane] was studying Buddha sometime near the last gig [of his life] and found that there was a chant where you could pound your chest and it would change the sound of your voice. He wanted to get that quiver on the horn, and when he couldn’t get it, he’d put the horn down, beat on his chest and scream into the microphone. People really thought he’d lost his mind then.” – Rashied Ali, drummer for John Coltrane

This is a Bluescentric Brand official Blues Brothers Long Sleeve T-Shirt, available in sizes up to 5XL! The material is pre-shrunk 100% heavy cotton (athletic heather 99%) 6 ounce long sleeve tee. Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem.

The design was drawn from the Blues Brothers original 1980 tour shirts.

Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi had just put together a crack rhythm & blues soul revue band, and their 1978 live show at Universal Amphitheater (opening for comedian Steve Martin) turned into the #1 billboard hit album Briefcase Full Of Blues.

But June of 1980 would be the month that made The Blues Brothers a household name.

The movie premiered June 20th, 1980, and seven days later in a soul-filled high-energy case of life imitating art, The Blues Brothers Band set out on a real life national tour starting at Poplar Creek Music Theater in Illinois and ending with a massive six night engagement at L.A.'s Universal Amphitheater.
