“So it was through Bill (Graham) that I meet the Grateful Dead. Jerry Garcia is their guitar player and I (we) hit it off great talking about music-what they liked and what I liked-and I think we all learned something, grew some. Jerry loved jazz and I found out that he loved my music and had been listening to it for a long time” – Miles Davis

The design was drawn from the Blues Brothers original 1980 tour shirts.

Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi had just put together a crack rhythm & blues soul revue band, and their 1978 live show at Universal Amphitheater (opening for comedian Steve Martin) turned into the #1 billboard hit album Briefcase Full Of Blues.

But June of 1980 would be the month that made The Blues Brothers a household name.

The movie premiered June 20th, 1980, and seven days later in a soul-filled high-energy case of life imitating art, The Blues Brothers Band set out on a real life national tour starting at Poplar Creek Music Theater in Illinois and ending with a massive six night engagement at L.A.'s Universal Amphitheater.
