Where Charlie Parker got the name “Bird” is a mystery — In one famed story from The Reno Club in Kansas City, Drummer Jo Jones (no relation to “Philly” Jo Jones) threw a cymbal at teenage Charlie Parker’s feet when he poorly improvised a saxophone solo in the wrong key, causing him to fly like a bird.

This is the special XLT version of this John Lee Hooker T-Shirt t-shirt, out for the bluesman's 101st Birthday.

This compelling photo of John Lee Hooker was shot by photographer Stephen Parker at the Hammersmith Odeon, London, in May 1987. "Hooker only leaned back [into the light] twice in the whole gig," Parker told Bluescentric. "The rest of the time his face was in shadow."

Bluescentric Brand XLT John Lee Hooker t-shirts comes in preshrunk 6oz 100% cotton sizes XLT, 2XLT and 3XLT. Sizes run very true, and have minimal, if any, shrinking. This is a standard go-to t shirt for our big & tall music lovers.
