Thanks to his legendary musical performances, the father of the blues, Charley Patton, famously owned a new car in the 1930s Mississippi Delta, an extreme rarity which helped inspire a younger generation of black men who idolized Patton to also become performers — including Howlin’ Wolf, Son House, Robert Johnson, Willie Brown, Pops Staples, Tommy Johnson, Honeyboy Edwards & many others…

The concert took place in Madison, Wisconsin on November 21st, 1969, and at that moment, Janis was on top of the world. "Janis Joplin came on with the impact of assassination at Dane County Coliseum last night," crooned the Wisconsin Capital Times, "sending her two-ton voice out over the heads of an audience of about 5,000." She had just played Woodstock, formed a new band, Kozmic Blues, and had rapidly ascended to be among the biggest rock stars of her era. She played some of her biggest hits: Summertime, Piece of My Heart, Ball n' Chain and a Bo Diddley number.

This exclusive t-shirt design is based on an old newspaper ad promoting that show, and features an era-appropriate halftone photo of Janis. The text reads:
