With a knack for continuously re-inventing himself and his music, The Godfather of Soul captured the imagination (and the hip movements) of the country for a career that spanned five decades. In an industry rife with predators, James Brown forged his own path, booking and promoting his own shows and maintaining tight control of his always-unbelievably talented band. 

Brown had a stunning 17 singles hit #1 on the Billboard R&B Chart. Ht was one of the first inducteeds into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, and awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement award in 1992, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1997.
