According to The New York Times, cards on seats of the Spring 2013 Yves Saint Laurent Paris Fashion Week read “Music Junior Kimbrough Edited by Daft Punk.”

This is the song text for Etta James’ famous track “At Last”, which appeared on her 1960 debut album of the same name. Her rare ability to blend blues, jazz, and soul into something unmistakably “Etta” made the album an instant success. Although the song was originally written in 1941, it was James’ soaring, emotional delivery, paired with a string orchestra from Chess Records, that made it a definitive hit of the 20th century.

Etta James At Last

At last, my love has come along My lonely days are over And life is like a song Ooh yeah, yeah At last, the skies above are blue My heart was wrapped up in clover The night I looked at you I found a dream, that I could speak to A dream that I can call my own I found a thrill to rest my cheek to A thrill that I have never known Ohh yeah yeah You smile You smile Oh and then the spell was cast And here we are in heaven For you are mine At last
