Sublime’s 1992 cover of The Grateful Dead’s “Scarlett Begonias” is played over a sample of James Brown’s “Funky Drummer”.

1969 – From Genesis to Revelation

The very earliest logo: typically, a somewhat simple wordmark “Genesis”, not very ornate, sometimes inside minimal framing, very plain. On some editions of From Genesis to Revelation their name is barely shown (or even omitted on the cover).

1971-1972 – Nursery Cryme and Foxtrot

A more stylized / decorative script logo designed by Paul Whitehead made its appearance with Nursery Cryme. This same style was used on Foxtrot.

1973 – Genesis Live

The decorative Whitehead-style logo inverted colors / slightly changed hue (purple tones) for Genesis Live.

1974 – The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

A different / more ornate, maybe calligraphic or Greek-letter influence style appears. This is a more artistic logo, matching the concept-album’s feel.

Mid-1970s — A Trick of the Tail, Wind & Wuthering

Slight evolution: often retaining more traditional or decorative elements, but gradually moving toward cleaner, more readable fonts; less flourish. (Exact years on logo tweaks are murkier.)

Late 1970s / 1980 — …And Then There Were Three…, Duke

The logo becomes simpler, sharper. On Duke (1980), the word “Genesis” is presented in a cleaner, more straightforward typographic style, less ornate curves.

1981 — Abacab

Major change: a new “bold, geometric / blocky” typeface/logo style for Abacab. Much more modern-looking, reflecting their shift in musical style too.

1983-1986 — Genesis (self-titled), Invisible Touch

Further refinement and modernization: more polished look, sleeker edges, maybe stylized letterforms. The “G” etc sometimes more uniform, less decorative.

1991 / 1992 (Tour / Later Album Eras)

Small updates, possibly subtle styling tweaks for tours, merchandising. Not a full overhaul as in earlier decades, more continuity.

2006-2007 / 2021-2022 — Turn It On Again Tour / The Last Domino? Tour

A return to more classic forms but updated for modern media (digital, merch, large-scale reproduction). The logo tends to be clean, high contrast, easily readable at distance; less ornate, more streamlined.
