It was 1933 & Bill Basie was stranded in KC when his vaudeville touring group disbanded, so he took a job playing organ for silent movies before joining, then swiftly leading, his own big band into music history as “Count” Basie (and his Cherry Blossom Orchestra)

With his health failing, Waylon Jennings assembled the Waymore Blues Band, filled with friends & all-stars, in the first week of the new century, for one final concert at the historic Ryman Auditorium.
