“Buddy Guy, an auto mechanic by day, a self-taught musician (who pulled wires from a window screen to make his first guitar), is, by general consensus, the finest blues guitarist in the city, if not in the jazz world.” – “Chicago, an Extraordinary Guide” by Jory Graham, 1967

Slim Harpo released Baby Scratch My Back/I'm Gonna Miss you Like The Devil in 1966 on Excello Records. The single was waxed on a 7 inch vinyl 45rpm single on Excello Records.

It was the label's first #1 hit, spending 2 weeks on the R&B chart. While Excello slipped into closure in the mid 1970s, the music it released was some of the most important in R&B.

This is the actual Slim Harpo record label from that original release.
