In the late 1930’s, jazz great Duke Ellington invited aspiring songwriter Billy Strayhorn to “TAKE A TRAIN” to visit him in Harlem — the phrase became the title of one of the best known jazz pieces ever.

Bluesman R.L. Burnside was the influence for Samuel L. Jackson’s character in the movie ‘Black Snake Moan’.
