The Beatles’ original bassist Stuart Sutcliffe left the band shortly before they became famous to pursue painting full-time in Hamburg, where he unexpectedly died of a brain hemorrhage at just 21. The Beatles included a photo of him on the cover of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Elvis Presley’s first major hit was a cover of Arthur Crudup’s “That’s All Right, Mama”. Despite being credited, Crudup never received any royalties.
