The Beastie Boys used jazz man Jimmy Smith’s 1972 classic “Root Down (And Get It)” as the foundation for their own song (and the title of their album), 1995’s “Root Down”.

Folk artist Jim Sullivan, known for haunting music & lyrics involving UFOs and the supernatural, mysteriously vanished in New Mexico in 1975 while on a trip to Nashville, never to be seen again.
