David Bowie portrayed the historically curious figure Joseph “John” Merrick in the Broadway play THE ELEPHANT MAN from late July, 1980 through early January, 1981.

Howlin’ Wolf was discovered by Sun Records’ Sam Phillips, who heard Wolf performing live on the West Memphis, Arkansas KWEM radio station in 1951.
