While his name is often spelled “Leadbelly”, the folk musician actually always referred to himself as “Lead Belly” — with a space.

In his 1976 Best Album Grammy acceptance speech, Paul Simon jokingly thanked Stevie Wonder for not releasing an album that year. Wonder had won in 1974 & 1975, and would win again in 1977 for “Songs in the Key of Life”.
