Howlin’ Wolf was discovered by Sun Records’ Sam Phillips, who heard Wolf performing live on the West Memphis, Arkansas KWEM radio station in 1951.

Isaac Hayes was originally casted as John Shaft in the movie, but instead wrote the soundtrack, which became his biggest success, peaking at #1 and winning a Grammy.
