Steve Miller Band covered Johnny “Guitar” Watson’s hit song “Gangster of Love” on his 1968 album Sailor. The line “they call me the gangster of love” in Miller’s 1969 smash hit song “Space Cowboy” was a reference to this.

Jack White covered Little Willy John’s up-jumped-the-devil song I’M SHAKIN’ on his 2012 Blunderbuss album.
