There is an annual parade in Shreveport, Mississippi in honor of Leadbelly that ends with a jam at the blues musician’s grave.

Lynyrd Skynyrd’s mention of Muscle Shoals having The Swampers in their hit song “Sweet Home Alabama” was a reference to the nickname of the legendary Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section from FAME Studios.
