The Surfaris 1963 massive smash hit single “WIPEOUT” was a traditional 12-bar blues riff. The laughing in the beginning was the studio owner & band’s manager. It was written & recorded “on the spot” in the studio as b-side filler.

The colorful cast of happy creatures, high heeled statues and flying spoons dancin’ on CCR’s lawn in “Looking Out My Back Door” was inspired by Dr. Seuss’s “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.”
