Acclaimed American folk guitarist Elizabeth Cotten hadn’t played for over three decades until, by chance, she began working as housekeeper for the famed Seeger family of folk singers & musicologists. Inspired to resume playing, Cotten went on to win a Grammy in 1986, received a National Heritage Fellowship & in 2022 was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

The colorful cast of happy creatures, high heeled statues and flying spoons dancin’ on CCR’s lawn in “Looking Out My Back Door” was inspired by Dr. Seuss’s “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.”
