The Surfaris 1963 massive smash hit single “WIPEOUT” was a traditional 12-bar blues riff. The laughing in the beginning was the studio owner & band’s manager. It was written & recorded “on the spot” in the studio as b-side filler.

The Eagles’ lead guitarist Don Felder taught a very young Tom Petty to play an instrument — but which? Felder claimed he taught Petty guitar, while Petty recalls Felder actually teaching him piano.
