Allegedly, one night at the legendarily scruffy Austin, Texas dive bar The One Knite, an unknown and out-of-place ‘British touring band’ (Pink Floyd) dropped in and asked to jam with Jimmie Vaughan and Doyle Bramhall’s band STORM, but were rejected.

The Meters’ masterful fifth album, 1974’s “Rejuvenation” was famously sampled by Public Enemy and Timbaland, and several songs were covered by The Grateful Dead (“Hey Pocky A-Way”) and Red Hot Chili Peppers (“Africa”).
