The Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson, Tennessee is named for the rockabilly legend who had lived most of his life, and gained early fame as a musician, in the town.

The rockin’ finale of the 1985 movie BACK TO THE FUTURE featured Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly wildly covering Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode” on guitar. It’s implied that Berry’s cousin is in the backing band.
