James Brown had to self-finance the recording of his now-legendary album “Live at the Apollo” on October 24, 1962 because the label thought it would never sell. It was Brown’s most successful album.

The Rolling Stones’ song “2120 S. Michigan Ave” was the address at which the song was recorded — the famed Chess Records in Chicago.
