The band Alice Cooper broke up in 1975, so the lead singer Vincent Furnier legally changed his name to “Alice Cooper” & toured as a solo act. The other members of the band are paid royalties for using the name.

The title track to B.B. King’s 1968 album “Lucille” features the bluesman just talking about his adventures with his guitar Lucille, and how she came to get her lifelong name.
