Outlaw country music star Waylon Jennings got his start playing bass for Buddy Holly on the now-infamous “Winter Dance Party”. When Waylon was hired, he didn’t know how to play bass.

There was only one known photograph of Blind Lemon Jefferson, from Chicago in 1926.

Jennings & Keys both played with Holly’s backing band The Crickets (though Keys did after Holly’s death).
