The name “Muscle Shoals Sound Studio” was a local tongue-in-cheek joke, because the studio was actually Sheffield, a town that shares a border with Muscle Shoals.

Though many spell his name “Leadbelly”, the famed folk musician actually spelled it “Lead Belly” in life, and on his gravestone.
