Johnny Otis’s grandson Lucky Otis (Shuggie’s son), and Lead Belly’s great-grandson Louis Ledbetter, formed a band called OTIS LEDBETTER.

When his orchestra showed up late, sloppy, and high to a gig in the ‘60s, Ray Charles fired the entire horn section on the spot, mid-tour, and hired a local college jazz band to finish the tour.
