“Bluegrass” as a music genre is directly named after one band: Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys — one of several reasons Bill is known as the father of Bluegrass Music.

While still gaining notoriety as a local musician in Jackson, Tennessee, one of the odd jobs future rockabilly legend Carl Perkins worked was ‘pan greaser’ for the Colonial Baking Company.
