John Lee Hooker was born in (abouts) 1917 in the extremely tiny, rural town of Tutwiler, Mississippi — coincidentally the very same town where W.C. Handy first heard & documented a man singing what he called “the blues” in 1903.

Johnny Winter created his own record label, Blue Sky Records, with the help of manager Steve Paul in 1973. Albums released by Blue Sky included Johnny, Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer and Muddy Waters' famous comeback albums, Hard Again, King Bee, and I'm Ready.
