The Beach Boys’ “Surfin’ U.S.A.” was nearly a note-for-note copy of Chuck Berry’s “Sweet Little Sixteen”. Chuck reportedly did enjoy the song, and eventually got a songwriting credit for it.

Founded in 1950, Chance Records was a pivotal Chicago record label that specialized in the booming Jazz, Blues and Pop that was dominating the airwaves. John Lee Hooker recorded on Chance, as did Jimmy Reed. Eventually, Chance shuttered to make way for Vee-Jay Records.
